New Bonnyrigg Rose Manager

Sunday June 21st 2015

Bonnyrigg Rose have announced the appointment of former Hearts, Forfar Athletic and Berwick Rangers player and assistant manager Robbie Horn as David McGlynn’s successor at New Dundas Park.

Robbie had spent the last three years at Shielfield as assistant manager under Ian Little and Colin Cameron before his resignation earlier this season. He also has a spell as manager of Lowland League side Vale of Leithen following his release from Berwick as a player. He undertook his UEFA “B” License at the same time as the last two Bonnyrigg Rose managers (Max Christie & David McGlynn).

On his appointment Robbie said ” I am honoured to be given the chance to manage such a big club and can’t wait to get started. We have the nucleus of a good squad and with a few additions I genuinely feel we can challenge for trophies. Players have been targeted already and hope to have some news soon on that front.”

Robbie Horn has also made his first addition for the 2015/16 season by appointing David Burrell as his assistant manager. Bonnyrigg man David spent eleven seasons with the Rose before his release last season and spent the season just past with local rivals Penicuik Athletic. Bonnyrigg Rose thanked Penicuik Athletic for allowing him to take up the role as Robbie Horn’s number two.
