Newbattle Abbey

Saturday July 6th 2019

Nine centuries of inspiration and Scotland’s glittering jewel in the crown. Originally a medieval Cistercian monastery founded in 1140 AD, Newbattle Abbey has a 900-year history of welcoming guests royalty. Scotland’s future was shaped at the Abbey when the Declaration of Abroath was drafted here. Every room holds a story and the font in the Chapel was used to baptise Mary Queen of Scots.

125 acres of beautiful parkland with Italian Gardens, woodland, wide open grassland and river.
