Clyde 3 Bonnyrigg Rose 2

In the first cinch League Two game of 2024, Bonnyrigg Rose clashed with Clyde FC under Robbie Horn’s unchanged line up from the previous East Fife Victory. The first half proved frustrating for Rose, struggling to carve out any clear-cut opportunities.

Clyde, led by newly appointed Ian McCall and with fresh signings Lee Hamilton, Robbie Leitch, and Craig Howie, seized control early. Alex King would create numerous chances early and set the stage for Clyde’s dominance, as Connor Young would open Clyde goal account for the afternoon as he would fire home in the 16th minute. Clyde would extent there lead in quick succession with Logan Dunnachie getting on the end of a Liam Scullion corner. The Bully wee would have another as Alex King and Liam Scullion orchestrated a slick 1-2 play, securing Clyde’s third goal before halftime.

The second half witnessed a more urgent Rose, intensifying their press and injecting more energy into their gameplay. Smart Osadolor emerged as a game-changer, netting twice in the 79th minute and in the 90th stoppage time. Despite the late resurgence, Clyde’s early lead secured the Bully Wee a 3-2 victory. Rose will look to bounce back next Saturday home to Dumbarton at New Dundas Park.
