Police Scotland Crime Beat Report for Midlothian

Midlothian Crime Beat for period between Monday 8th and Sunday 14th August 2022.

For the last few weeks this report has only covered the eastern side of Midlothian. It is hoped that the western side of Midlothian will be included soon.

Dalkeith

A 43 year old male was arrested and charged on Sunday 14th August in connection with a number of offences that took place in the Gorebridge and Dalkeith areas, including Theft HB, Theft of a vehicle and driving whilst under the influence. The male was held to appear at court on Monday 15th August.

Overnight between Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August a shed was broken into at an address in James Lean Avenue, nothing appears to have been stolen.

Gorebridge

A 22 year old male was arrested and charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour following an incident in the Gorebridge area on Monday 8th August.

Around 3.50pm on Wednesday 10th August a driver of a number 48, LRT bus travelling along Greenhall Road past Barleyknowe Place, Gorebridge was hit by a stone thrown at the bus. Thankfully the driver and no one else was injured. Enquiries are ongoing.

On Friday 12th August officers were carrying out mobile patrols when they observed a vehicle in Hunterfield Road with a smell of cannabis emanating from it. The vehicle, which was initially lost to sight was subsequently traced by officers. A 23 year old male was issued with a RPW after cannabis was found and seized.
