Police Scotland Crime Beat Report for Midlothian

Dalkeith, Midlothian South and Midlothian East Crime Beat report for period between Monday 24th and Sunday 30th October 2022.

Dalkeith

Overnight between Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th October a black direct bikes moped was stolen from outside a property at Woolmet Crescent, Danderhall. Enquiries are ongoing.

A 15 year old youth was charged following a report of damage to business premises at Eskbank Road on Monday 24th October. A report has been submitted to the Youth Justice Officer.

On the evening of Monday 24th October a driver of a vehicle was issued with an ASBO warning after being observed by officers driving at speed, and racing another vehicle in Dalhousie Road.

A 32 year old male was issued with a recorded police warning following a theft of items from shop premises at Hardengreen on Wednesday 26th October.

Around 1pm on Thursday 27th October a male described as white, 5’8” wearing a hat, green sweatshirt, dark blue navy jogging trousers, with a blue mountain bike entered shop premises at Dalkeith Country Park stealing items from within. Enquiries are ongoing.

Around 9pm on Thursday 27th October a female entered shop premises in Thorny Crook Gardens stealing items from within. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.

Around 3pm on Friday 28th October a female entered shop premises in Jarnac Court stealing items from within. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.

Newtongrange/Mayfield

On Monday 24th October a report was received of damage having been caused to fencing at church premises in Stone Place, Mayfield. Enquiries are ongoing.

Between 8.15pm and 8.45pm on Monday 24th October a grey Audi parked in Oak Place had a window smashed. Enquiries are ongoing.

Between 6pm and 10pm on Tuesday 25th October 2022 bins were deliberately set on fire at Easthouses Lily football ground, causing damage to the premises. Enquiries are ongoing.

Around 10.30pm on Tuesday 25th October a window of a property in Bogwood Road was damaged. Enquiries are ongoing.

Between 4pm and 4.30pm on Thursday 27th October 2022 machinery located at Easthouses Road was set alight. Enquiries are ongoing.

Gorebridge

Around 11pm on Friday 28th October a male youth sustained minor injuries after being assaulted in Gore Avenue by three males. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.

Around 11.10pm on Friday 28th October two Citroen Xsara Picasso vehicles parked in Gore Avenue were damaged. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.
